Description
Delicious brownies cut into star shapes, perfect for patriotic celebrations.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Red and blue sprinkles (for decoration)
- Star-shaped cookie cutter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the sugar until well combined.
- Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
- Once cooled, use the star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out star shapes from the brownies.
- Transfer the star brownies to a serving platter and sprinkle with red and blue sprinkles for a festive touch.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding 1/2 cup of chopped nuts such as walnuts or pecans to the batter.
- If you want a lighter version, substitute half of the butter with unsweetened applesauce.
