Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter 2 sticks
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Red and blue sprinkles for decoration
  • Star-shaped cookie cutter

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the sugar until well combined.
  3. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  9. Once cooled, use the star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out star shapes from the brownies.
  10. Transfer the star brownies to a serving platter and sprinkle with red and blue sprinkles for a festive touch.
