  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
Flavoring
  • 1 teaspoon Rubbed Sage fresh sage can be substituted, adjusting the amount.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon Chili Powder increase for more heat.
Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato Paste
  • 28 ounces Crushed & Strained Tomatoes marinara sauce can be used as a substitute.

Cooking Steps
  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat until shimmering.
  2. Sauté the diced apples, sliced carrots, and sliced sweet potatoes, adding spices, for about 5 minutes until softened.
  3. Add the ground turkey, breaking it apart as it cooks for about 5 to 7 minutes until browned.
  4. Stir in the tomato paste and chili powder, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  5. Pour in crushed and strained tomatoes, mixing well and bringing to a gentle simmer.
  6. Cover and simmer on low heat for 20-30 minutes, optionally adding kidney beans in the last 5 minutes.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs or toppings of choice.
