Prepare the Base
- Bread and Blueberries: Cube the bread into bite-sized pieces and layer them evenly in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Scatter blueberries over the bread.
- Custard Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
2. Assemble and Refrigerate
- Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread and blueberries, ensuring all the bread pieces are soaked.
- Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap or aluminum foil and refrigerate overnight, or for at least 4 hours.
3. Bake
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove the baking dish from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 20–30 minutes.
- Bake uncovered for 45–55 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
4. Serve
- Let the bake cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
- Serve warm with maple syrup, whipped cream, or additional blueberries as desire
