- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place an oven-safe rack on top.
- In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, black pepper, water, and cayenne pepper to create a sticky glaze.
- Arrange thick-cut bacon strips on the prepared rack. Generously coat each slice with the sugar mixture.
- Bake the bacon for about 15 minutes, flip each strip, and bake for another 10-15 minutes until crispy.
- Increase oven temperature to 425°F (220°C), slice the baguette, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Bake the crostini for 7-10 minutes until golden brown, then cool on a wire rack.
- Assemble the log by placing the goat cheese on a platter and pressing the bacon pieces into it. Drizzle with syrup.
