Prepare the Tater Tots:
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C).
- Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden and crispy, following the package instructions.
2. Season the Tater Tots:
- Transfer the baked tater tots to a large mixing bowl.
- Sprinkle the dry ranch seasoning over the tots and gently toss to coat evenly.
3. Assemble the Casserole:
- Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C).
- In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spread half the seasoned tater tots evenly.
- Sprinkle half the shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon over the tots.
- Layer the remaining tater tots on top, followed by the rest of the cheese and bacon.
4. Bake the Casserole:
- Place the assembled casserole in the oven.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbling.
5. Garnish and Serve:
- Remove from the oven and let the casserole cool slightly.
- Dollop spoonfuls of sour cream over the top and garnish with chopped chives or green onions if desired.
