  • 1 cup Carrots (shredded) Pre-shredded for convenience.
For the Dressing
  • 2.5 tablespoons Soy Sauce Use tamari or liquid aminos for gluten-free.
  • 1 tablespoon Rice Wine Vinegar Substitute with apple cider vinegar if desired.
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons Gochugaru Adjust to spice preference.
  • 2 teaspoons Toasted Sesame Oil Avoid regular oil.
  • 2 teaspoons Sesame Seeds Optional.
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar Can use honey or agave.
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced) Omit for milder taste.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash the green leaf lettuce under cold running water, then dry it using a salad spinner or clean kitchen towel. Cut into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, gochugaru, toasted sesame oil, sesame seeds, sugar, and minced garlic. Whisk until sugar dissolves.
  3. Add shredded carrots to the bowl with lettuce. Drizzle dressing over the salad and toss gently with tongs or hands for even coating.
  4. Serve immediately in individual bowls or a large platter for best taste and texture.
