Preheat your oven to 400°F.
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Stir in the thyme, paprika, allspice, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook for another minute.
Pour in the beef broth and stir in the breadcrumbs. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
Roll out the pie crusts on a lightly floured surface. Cut out circles using a 5-inch round cutter.
Place about 2 tablespoons of the beef mixture in the center of each circle. Fold the crust over to create a half-moon shape and crimp the edges with a fork to seal.
Place the patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
