Step-by-Step Instructions for Mushroom & Goat Cheese Pizza
  1. Preheat your oven to 550°F (290°C) and ensure your baking sheet or pizza stone is in the oven while it heats.
  2. Roll out your pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to about 12 inches in diameter. Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet, brush with olive oil, and sprinkle minced garlic on top.
  3. In a skillet heated over medium-high heat, add olive oil and red pepper flakes, then add sliced mushrooms. Cook undisturbed for about 2 minutes, flip them, season with salt and pepper, and continue cooking until browned, about another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle 2/3 of the mozzarella cheese over the prepared dough. Distribute the sautéed mushrooms and fresh spinach on top. Finish with the remaining mozzarella and crumbled goat cheese, sprinkle with sea salt.
  5. Place the assembled pizza in the preheated oven and bake for about 13-15 minutes until the crust is golden-brown and the cheese is melted and bubbling.
  6. Remove from the oven and let the pizza cool for about 3 minutes to allow the cheese to set slightly. Slice into six pieces with a pizza cutter.
  7. Drizzle balsamic vinegar over each slice before serving for a burst of tangy sweetness. If desired, sprinkle extra red pepper flakes.
