Ingredients

For the Patties
  • 1 pound Ground Beef Choose 80% lean for juicy flavors; ground turkey is a perfect leaner substitute.
  • 2-3 cloves Fresh Garlic Adds robust flavor; roast it for a sweeter taste or use garlic powder when pressed for time.
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce Optional; enhances umami flavors in the patties.
For the Creamy Sauce
  • ½ cup Sour Cream Or Greek yogurt; substitute with plain or vegan yogurt for a dairy-free version.
  • ½ cup Mayonnaise Optional light mayo for a lower-calorie option.
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice Fresh is best; bottled can work in a pinch.
  • 1 tablespoon Dill Optional; fresh dill is delightful, but dried can also be used.
For the Burger Buns
  • 4 buns Burger Buns Soft buns like brioche or whole wheat; a gluten-free version caters to dietary needs.

Equipment

  • Grill or Skillet
  • medium bowl
  • large mixing bowl
  • Toaster

Method

Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce
  1. In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream (or Greek yogurt), minced garlic, lemon juice, and fresh dill if desired. Season with salt and pepper. Mix until smooth, then refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
Prepare Burger Patties
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef (or turkey), minced or roasted garlic, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce if using. Mix gently until just combined.
Shape Patties
  1. Divide the mixture into four portions and roll each into a patty about ¾ inch thick, creating an indentation in the center.
Cook Patties
  1. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Sear patties for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 4 minutes.
Toast Buns
  1. Slice burger buns in half and toast for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
Assemble Burgers
  1. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom bun, drizzling with creamy sauce, and topping with the bun.
