Ingredients
Method
- Prepare the Steak
- Slice the steak into bite-size pieces and pat dry with paper towels.
- Season the steak with salt and pepper, ensuring even coverage.
- Heat the Skillet
- Heat a large non-stick skillet over high heat until fully heated.
- Add olive oil and let it shimmer.
- Cook the Steak Bites
- Place steak pieces in the skillet in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding.
- Sear for 2-3 minutes without stirring to form a golden crust.
Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes to your desired doneness:
- Rare: 120°F
- Medium-Rare: 125°F
- Medium: 130°F
- Remove steak from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté the Mushrooms (Optional)
- Add mushrooms to the skillet with a drizzle of olive oil.
- Cook for 5-6 minutes until golden and tender. Remove and set aside.
- Make the Garlic Butter Sauce
- Reduce heat to medium and melt the butter in the skillet.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 30-60 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn.
- Combine and Serve
- Return the steak (and mushrooms, if using) to the skillet.
- Toss to coat everything in the garlic butter sauce.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- For the best sear, ensure the steak is dry and the skillet is very hot before adding the meat.
- Adjust the seasoning and butter amount to taste.
- Add red pepper flakes to the garlic butter sauce for a spicy kick.
