Ingredients
  

For the Brew
  • 2 cups Water For brewing the tea
  • 2 bags Black Tea Bags Or loose leaf tea
For the Mango Puree
  • 1 cup Ripe Mango Or frozen mango cubes
  • 2 cups Water For cooking the mango
For Sweetening
  • 2 tablespoons Honey Adjust to taste
For Serving
  • 4 cups Ice To chill the drink

Equipment

  • Kettle
  • Large pitcher
  • Medium saucepan
  • fine-mesh sieve
  • Fork or potato masher

Method
 

Steeping the Tea
  1. Boil 2 cups of water in a kettle. Pour into a large pitcher and add black tea bags. Steep for about 10 minutes, then remove tea bags and let cool.
Preparing the Mango Puree
  1. In a medium saucepan, boil 2 cups of water. Add diced ripe mango, reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, mashing into a smooth puree.
Combining Tea and Mango
  1. Strain mango puree through a fine mesh sieve into the pitcher with steeped tea. Stir gently to combine.
Sweetening the Mixture
  1. Add honey to the pitcher and stir until fully dissolved.
Cooling & Serving
  1. Allow tea to cool to room temperature or refrigerate for 15 minutes. Serve over ice and garnish with mango slices or mint.

Notes

For stronger tea, brew longer. Freeze mango juice in ice cube trays to prevent dilution when serving.
