Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish generously with cooking spray or butter and evenly distribute cubed bread across the bottom.
- Layer the diced ham and shredded cheese over the cubed bread.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, and any desired seasonings for flavor until the mixture becomes pale yellow and fluffy.
- Carefully pour the whisked egg mixture evenly over the layered bread, ham, and cheese in the baking dish.
- Let the casserole sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes to allow the bread to absorb some of the egg mixture.
- Once rested, place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 40 minutes, or until the egg is set and the top is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, drizzling raspberry preserves on top before slicing and serving.

Notes
For best results, use slightly stale bread to enhance absorption of the egg mixture. Allow to rest before baking for better texture.
