Method
Prepare the Chicken Wings:
- Preheat the oven to 450°F.
- Pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel to ensure they become crispy.
- In a large bowl, combine potato starch, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Toss the chicken wings in the mixture until they are evenly coated.
Bake the Chicken Wings:
- Lightly spray oil onto a parchment-lined sheet pan.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer on the sheet pan and spray the tops with more oil.
- Lower the oven temperature to 425°F and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, flipping halfway through and spraying more oil to ensure crispiness.
Make the Honey Lemon Pepper Sauce:
- In a small saucepan, combine honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, butter, salt, and ground pepper.
- Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Let it simmer for 3 to 5 minutes until well combined and slightly thickened.
- Set aside a small portion of the sauce for dipping if desired.
Toss the Wings in the Sauce:
- Once the wings are baked, transfer them to a large bowl.
- Pour the honey lemon pepper sauce over the wings and toss until fully coated.
Notes
- Crispy Texture: Pat the wings dry before coating to ensure they crisp up nicely.
- Flip and Spray: Flip the wings halfway through baking and spray with oil to ensure even crispiness.
- Adjust Sauce Thickness: Simmer the sauce longer for a thicker consistency or add more lemon juice for a thinner one.
- Spice Level: Adjust the ground pepper according to your desired spice level.
