Ingredients
  

For the Cabbage
  • 1 medium head Cabbage about 2 lbs; red cabbage can be used as a substitute
For the Cooking Fat
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter adds rich flavor
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil can use any neutral oil
For the Aromatics
  • 1 small Yellow Onion finely chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced; essential for flavor
For the Creamy Sauce
  • ½ cup Heavy Cream luxuriously creamy sauce
  • ½ cup Parmesan Cheese freshly grated; avoid pre-shredded
For the Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun Seasoning adds complexity; can substitute with Creole seasoning
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
For Garnish
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley chopped; adds freshness

Method
 

Cabbage Preparation
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add cabbage wedges cut side down and sear for 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown. Flip and repeat, then set aside.
Cooking Aromatics
  1. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add 1 small chopped yellow onion. Sauté for about 5 minutes until soft and golden brown.
Adding Flavors
  1. Stir in 4 minced garlic cloves and 1 teaspoon of Cajun seasoning, cooking for 1 minute until garlic is fragrant.
Make the Sauce
  1. Pour in ½ cup of heavy cream while scraping the bottom of the skillet. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until slightly thickened while stirring occasionally.
Final Touch
  1. Mix in ½ cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese and 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley. Return the seared cabbage to the skillet and spoon sauce over it.
Serve
  1. Cover partially and cook for another 5 minutes until the cabbage is fork-tender. Garnish with additional parsley before serving.
