Cabbage Preparation
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add cabbage wedges cut side down and sear for 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown. Flip and repeat, then set aside.
Cooking Aromatics
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add 1 small chopped yellow onion. Sauté for about 5 minutes until soft and golden brown.
Adding Flavors
- Stir in 4 minced garlic cloves and 1 teaspoon of Cajun seasoning, cooking for 1 minute until garlic is fragrant.
Make the Sauce
- Pour in ½ cup of heavy cream while scraping the bottom of the skillet. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes until slightly thickened while stirring occasionally.
Final Touch
- Mix in ½ cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese and 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley. Return the seared cabbage to the skillet and spoon sauce over it.
Serve
- Cover partially and cook for another 5 minutes until the cabbage is fork-tender. Garnish with additional parsley before serving.
