In a medium bowl, combine the diced cherry tomatoes, chopped basil, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and let it sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until the bread is lightly toasted.
Remove the toasted baguette slices from the oven. If using, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of each slice and return to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the cheese is melted.
Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each toasted baguette slice. Drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.
