  • Tomatoes peeled and sliced - 4 large
  • Parmesan cheese grated - ¼ cup
  • Fresh basil chopped - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - To taste

Method
 

Prepare Ingredients:
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Gather all ingredients, ensuring the zucchini is sliced and tomatoes are peeled and sliced.
Cook Zucchini:

  2. Add zucchini slices in a single layer, cooking for about 8 minutes per side until golden brown. Sprinkle garlic over the zucchini during cooking. Remove and set aside.
Layer the Gratin:
  1. In a 9x12-inch baking dish, alternate layers of cooked zucchini, sliced mozzarella, and tomato slices, ensuring slight overlap.
Season and Add Toppings:
  1. Sprinkle the layered vegetables with grated Parmesan cheese, chopped basil, salt, and pepper.
Bake the Dish:
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbling, and lightly browned.
