Description

Flaky croissants, savory ham, and melty cheese come together in this golden-baked delight. Perfect for a quick breakfast, brunch, or satisfying snack, these croissants are buttery, crispy, and packed with flavor. Ready in just 20 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 4 large croissants (freshly baked or store-bought)
  • 4 slices of ham (high-quality deli ham)
  • 4 slices of cheese (Swiss, cheddar, or your favorite variety)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even baking.
  2. Slice Croissants: Cut each croissant in half lengthwise; toast lightly if desired.
  3. Spread Dijon Mustard: Apply a thin layer of mustard on the inside of each croissant half.
  4. Layer Ingredients: Place one slice of ham and one slice of cheese (or two for extra melty goodness) on the bottom half of each croissant.
  5. Assemble & Brush: Close the croissants and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush the tops with melted butter.
  6. Season (Optional): Sprinkle with dried thyme and garlic powder for added flavor.
  7. Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the croissants are golden and the cheese is melted.
  8. Serve & Enjoy: Let them cool slightly and enjoy with a fresh salad or warm soup.

Notes

  • Try Different Cheeses: Swap in Gruyère, smoked cheddar, or brie for a unique twist.
  • Make It Ahead: Assemble the croissants and refrigerate them; bake fresh when needed.
  • Add Extra Goodies: Enhance flavor with spinach, tomatoes, or caramelized onions.
