Description

Ingredients

  • 1 large head of green cabbage (about 2 pounds)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage and slice the head into 1-inch thick steaks. You should get about 4 to 6 steaks depending on the size of the cabbage.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Brush both sides of each cabbage steak with the olive oil mixture and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Roast the cabbage steaks in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and tender.
  6. If using, drizzle balsamic vinegar over the steaks during the last 5 minutes of roasting.
  7. Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, try adding a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese on top during the last few minutes of roasting.
