Description
Sausage and Perogy Foil Packets are a delicious and easy meal option, perfect for grilling or baking. This recipe combines smoked sausage, frozen perogies, and colorful vegetables, all cooked together in convenient foil packets.
Ingredients
- 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced into 1-inch pieces
- 1 package (16 ounces) frozen perogies
- 1 cup bell peppers, sliced (any color)
- 1 cup onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or preheat your oven to 400°F.
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced sausage, frozen perogies, bell peppers, and onion.
- Drizzle the olive oil over the mixture and sprinkle with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together until well coated.
- Cut four large pieces of aluminum foil (about 12×12 inches each). Divide the sausage and perogy mixture evenly among the foil pieces.
- Fold the edges of the foil to create sealed packets, ensuring there are no openings for steam to escape.
- Place the foil packets on the grill or in the oven. Cook for 20-25 minutes, turning halfway through, until the perogies are heated through and the sausage is browned.
- Carefully open the packets (watch out for steam) and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes to the mixture.
- Substitute the smoked sausage with turkey sausage or a plant-based sausage for a lighter or vegetarian option.
