Ingredients

  • Filling:
    • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 3 ½ tbsp sugar
    • ½ tsp lemon juice
    • ½ tsp vanilla extract
    • ¼ tsp salt
  • Wrapper:
    • Egg roll wrappers (as needed)
    • Water (for sealing)
  • Topping:
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • Cooking:
    • Oil for frying (enough for 2 inches depth)
  • Optional Toppings:
    • Caramel, chocolate sauce, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit

Instructions

  • Prepare the Filling:
    • Beat cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and salt in a bowl until smooth and creamy.
  • Assemble the Egg Rolls:
    • Place an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface. Add 2 tbsp of filling to the center.
    • Fold the bottom corner over the filling, fold in the sides, and roll tightly. Seal the top corner with water.
  • Prepare the Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture:
    • Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Set aside.
  • Heat the Oil:
    • Heat 2 inches of oil in a pot to 375°F.
  • Fry the Egg Rolls:
    • Fry 3-4 egg rolls at a time for 2 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
