Description

A delightful appetizer featuring creamy goat cheese, sweet honey, fresh figs, and crunchy pistachios, perfect for entertaining.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces goat cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 cup fresh figs, chopped
  • 1/4 cup pistachios, shelled and roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for drizzling)
  • Crackers or sliced baguette, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened goat cheese, honey, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  2. Transfer the goat cheese mixture to a serving dish and spread it out evenly.
  3. Top the goat cheese with the chopped figs and pistachios, distributing them evenly over the surface.
  4. If using, sprinkle fresh thyme leaves over the top for added flavor.
  5. Drizzle olive oil over the entire dish for a finishing touch.
  6. Serve immediately with crackers or sliced baguette, or refrigerate for up to 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld before serving.

Notes

  • For a sweeter version, add an extra tablespoon of honey on top before serving.
  • Substitute dried figs for fresh ones if they are not in season, or try adding a sprinkle of crushed red pepper for a spicy kick.
