Description
Ham and Cheese Spinach Puffs are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer filled with savory ham, creamy cheese, and nutritious spinach, all wrapped in flaky puff pastry.
Ingredients
- 1 cup cooked spinach, drained and chopped
- 1 cup diced ham
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 package (1 sheet) puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked spinach, diced ham, shredded cheddar cheese, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into squares, approximately 4×4 inches.
- Place a tablespoon of the filling in the center of each puff pastry square.
- Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to create a pocket and pinch the edges to seal. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
- Place the filled puffs on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute the ham with cooked mushrooms or diced bell peppers.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the filling for a spicy kick.
