Description

Grilled Steelhead Trout with Herb Butter is a delicious and healthy dish that features tender trout fillets grilled to perfection and topped with a flavorful herb butter.


Ingredients

  • 4 steelhead trout fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, parsley, dill, chives, and minced garlic. Mix until well combined and set aside.
  3. Pat the steelhead trout fillets dry with paper towels. Brush both sides with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Place the trout fillets skin-side down on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, then carefully flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  5. During the last minute of cooking, spoon a generous amount of the herb butter over each fillet to melt.
  6. Remove the trout from the grill and drizzle with lemon juice. Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • For added flavor, marinate the trout in olive oil, lemon juice, and herbs for 30 minutes before grilling.
  • Substitute the steelhead trout with salmon or another firm fish for a different taste.
