Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 2 lbs steak (ribeye, sirloin, or tenderloin), cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • Prepare the Steak
    • Slice the steak into bite-size pieces and pat dry with paper towels.
    • Season the steak with salt and pepper, ensuring even coverage.
  • Heat the Skillet
    • Heat a large non-stick skillet over high heat until fully heated.
    • Add olive oil and let it shimmer.
  • Cook the Steak Bites
    • Place steak pieces in the skillet in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding.
    • Sear for 2-3 minutes without stirring to form a golden crust.
    • Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes to your desired doneness:
      • Rare: 120°F
      • Medium-Rare: 125°F
      • Medium: 130°F
    • Remove steak from the skillet and set aside.
  • Sauté the Mushrooms (Optional)
    • Add mushrooms to the skillet with a drizzle of olive oil.
    • Cook for 5-6 minutes until golden and tender. Remove and set aside.
  • Make the Garlic Butter Sauce
    • Reduce heat to medium and melt the butter in the skillet.
    • Add minced garlic and sauté for 30-60 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn.
  • Combine and Serve
    • Return the steak (and mushrooms, if using) to the skillet.
    • Toss to coat everything in the garlic butter sauce.
    • Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
