Description

Delicious and fluffy homemade pull-apart dinner rolls that are perfect for any meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for greasing the bowl)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for brushing on top)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
  3. Add the melted butter, egg, and the yeast mixture to the flour. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces.
  7. Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  8. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  10. Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and brush with melted butter before serving.

Notes

  • For a garlic flavor, add 1 teaspoon of garlic powder to the dough or brush the tops with garlic butter before serving.
  • For a sweeter roll, add 1/4 cup of honey or maple syrup to the dough for a hint of sweetness.
