Description

Rich, chocolatey brownie truffles coated in smooth melted chocolate and topped with colorful sprinkles make the perfect festive treat. Easy to make and endlessly customizable, they’re ideal for celebrations, gifting, or just indulging at home!

Ingredients

For the Truffles:

  • 1 box brownie mix (1820 oz/500 g), prepared and cooled
  • 23 tablespoons cream cheese or frosting (optional, if binding needed)

For the Coating:

  • 7 oz (200 g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate, melted
  • Sprinkles, chopped nuts, cocoa powder, or crushed cookies for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brownies:
    • Follow the package instructions to bake the brownies and let them cool completely.
  2. Crumble the Brownies:
    • Break the brownies into a large bowl, crumbling them into small pieces.
    • If the mixture is too dry to hold together, mix in cream cheese or frosting, 1 tablespoon at a time, until it forms a pliable dough.
  3. Shape the Truffles:
    • Scoop 1 tablespoon of the brownie mixture and roll it into a ball between your hands.
    • Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
    • Repeat with the remaining mixture, then refrigerate the brownie balls for 30 minutes, or until firm.
  4. Melt the Chocolate:
    • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet or dark chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth.
  5. Coat the Truffles:
    • Use a fork or truffle-dipping tool to dip each brownie ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated.
    • Allow the excess chocolate to drip off before placing the truffle back onto the parchment-lined sheet.
  6. Add Garnishes:
    • While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle with colorful sprinkles, chopped nuts, or crushed cookies.
  7. Set and Serve:
    • Let the truffles set at room temperature or refrigerate until the chocolate hardens.
    • Transfer to a serving platter or store in an airtight container until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Cool brownies completely before crumbling for the best texture.
  • Use high-quality chocolate for a smoother coating and richer flavor.
  • If the chocolate starts to harden during dipping, reheat it in the microwave for a few seconds.
