Ingredients

For the Chicken Wings Dry Rub:

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

For the Seasoned Flour Coating:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

For the Buffalo Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup red hot sauce
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tsp brown sugar

Optional Sides and Garnishes:

  • Celery sticks, carrot sticks
  • Ranch or blue cheese dressing
  • Chopped green onions or sesame seeds

Instructions

 Prepare the Chicken Wings:

  1. Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels. This ensures a crispy texture.
  2. In a small bowl, mix salt, paprika, cayenne pepper, and black pepper for the dry rub. Rub this mixture evenly over the wings.
  3. Let the wings marinate for 30 minutes to enhance the flavor.

2. Coat the Wings:

  1. In a bowl, mix the seasoned flour ingredients: flour, salt, cayenne pepper, and black pepper.
  2. Coat each wing thoroughly in the seasoned flour and shake off the excess.
  3. Dip the floured wings briefly in cold water, then coat them again in the seasoned flour for a double layer.

3. Cook the Wings in the Air Fryer:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to allow even cooking.
  3. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

4. Make the Buffalo Sauce:

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Stir in the hot sauce and brown sugar until fully combined. Cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to slightly thicken.

5. Toss and Serve:

  1. Place the cooked wings in a large bowl and pour the buffalo sauce over them. Toss until evenly coated.
  2. Serve hot with celery sticks, carrot sticks, and your favorite dipping sauces.
