Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 slices American cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1/4 cup dill pickles, sliced
- 1/4 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1/4 cup tomato, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined; avoid overmixing.
- Divide the beef mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.
- Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheese on each one. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burgers reach your desired doneness.
- While the burgers are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard to create a special sauce.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading the sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Add the cooked patty with melted cheese, followed by pickles, lettuce, and tomato. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.

- For a spicy kick, add sliced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the special sauce.
