A delicious and hearty Chopped Italian Sandwich filled with salami, ham, provolone cheese, and fresh vegetables, perfect for a quick meal.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf of Italian bread (about 12 inches)
- 4 ounces sliced salami
- 4 ounces sliced ham
- 4 ounces sliced provolone cheese
- 1 cup chopped romaine lettuce
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1/4 cup sliced red onion
- 1/4 cup sliced pepperoncini
- 1/4 cup Italian dressing
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Slice the Italian bread in half lengthwise and place it on a baking sheet.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the salami, ham, provolone cheese, romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion, and pepperoncini.
- Drizzle with Italian dressing and season with salt and pepper. Toss gently to combine.
- Spoon the filling mixture evenly onto the bottom half of the bread.
- Place the top half of the bread over the filling.
- Wrap the sandwich in aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is warm.
- Remove from the oven, unwrap, and let cool for a few minutes before slicing into individual servings.
Notes
- For added flavor, try adding sliced olives or roasted red peppers to the filling.
- You can also substitute turkey or chicken for the meats for a lighter option.
