French Toast Base:

Instructions

. Prepare the Brown Sugar Banana Filling

  1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add brown sugar, maple syrup, and salt, stirring until smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and gently fold in sliced bananas. Set aside to cool.

2. Assemble the French Toast Base

  1. In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, half and half, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  2. Grease a 2 1/2 to 3-quart casserole dish.
  3. Layer half the bread cubes in the dish, spoon half the banana mixture over the bread, and repeat with remaining bread and bananas.
