Ingredients
For the Filling:
- 2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Wontons:
- 24 wonton wrappers

Instructions
- Prepare the Apple Filling:
- Combine chopped apples, sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, lemon juice, and vanilla extract in a medium bowl. Mix well and let sit for a few minutes to meld the flavors.
- Assemble the Wontons:
- Place wonton wrappers on a clean surface.
- Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the apple filling into the center of each wrapper.
- Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water and fold diagonally to form a triangle. Press firmly to seal the edges.
- Fry the Wontons:
- Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the wontons in small batches, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy (about 2–3 minutes per side).
- Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Dust the wontons with powdered sugar.
- Drizzle warm caramel sauce over the top for added sweetness.
- Serve immediately while warm and crispy.
